What is Historic Highway 91?
Highway 91 was the main artery from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City and on to Montana in the pre-1960s. In those days, our main mode of travel was by automobiles. From the early Model Ts to the magnificent, gas-guzzling monsters of the 1950s and 1960s, my family and I traveled on this historic byway many times. It was of the same vintage as Route 66, which traversed east to west across the United States. Highway 91 traveled from north to south.
